“A Charming Tour de Force” - Audience Member
Meet Me At Vie's is a musical celebration of the people and places that made up the Historically Black Vancouver neighbour, Hogan's Alley and the greater Black Vancouver community. Set in the restaurant Vie's Chicken and Steaks, Viva (Vie) Moore and Nora Hendrix (yes, Jimi's Grandmother) take audiences through the emotional and devastating destruction of a Black neighbourhood and its vibrant history.
The show is a 70 min story and songscape, with 9 original songs.

"Meet Me at Vie's" is a deeply impressive, historically accurate, and glorious new contribution to both the history-keeping and the culture of Hogan's Alley and Black Vancouver. It's a tour de force, an embodied history that brings our past to life in exuberant song and motion. It is joyful, mournful, and strident in turns, bringing with it the full spectrum of the Black experience in this part of the world, this corner of the diaspora, and we could not be better represented than through this wonderful mix of music and theatre." - Wayde Compton
